Femto Pulse Systems

Femto Pulse System

By using a pulsed-field power supply, large molecular weight DNA fragments can be separated and nucleic acids detected into the femtogram range. Compared to other non-denaturing gel-based analytical instruments, the Femto Pulse system easily achieves 10 times higher sensitivity for nucleic acid smears and up to 100 times higher sensitivity for nucleic acid fragments.

The ability to separate high molecular weight DNA up to 165 kb and detect nucleic acids down to 50 fg/µL input concentration make the Femto Pulse system ideal for long-read NGS QC, gDNA, small RNA, or cfDNA analysis from low concentration samples.

Features

  • Large Fragment Resolution - Separate high molecular weight DNA smears and fragments through 165 kb in about 1.5 hours.

How It Works

Femto Pulse System

Free up valuable time to focus on the next steps by automating separations. The Femto Pulse system can hold up to three, 96-well sample trays at once. This capacity allows you to program the unattended separation of up to 288 samples at a time.

Femto Pulse - How It Works

Pulsed-field capillary electrophoresis enables the sizing of smears through 165 kb in approximately 1.5 hours. An optimized optical platform allows the Agilent Femto Pulse system to detect nucleic acids in low quantity samples down to 50 fg/µL input concentration. The system is ideal for more specialized workflows including long-read NGS libraries and BAC clones.

Femto Pulse - How It Works

Two gel bottle locations on the Femto Pulse systems give you a couple options. If you are working exclusively with one sample type it allows you to load both bottles with the appropriate gel. However, if you work with multiple sample types, each bottle can be filled with a different gel.

applications

Nucleic acid samples QC for long read sequencing with the Femto Pulse system

To ensure robust results of long read NGS samples, the quality assessment of these samples is a crucial step. The Femto Pulse system with its ability to analyze high molecular weight DNA or precious nucleic acid samples of low concentration is a very suitable instrument to test if your library preparation is successful.

Sample quality control for biobanks with the Femto Pulse system

High-quality DNA and RNA samples are essential for prolonged storage and accessibility when using biobanks, and for many downstream applications. The ability of the Agilent Femto Pulse system to analyze high molecular weight DNA or precious nucleic acid samples of low concentration makes it a suitable instrument to confidently assess the quality of your biobank samples.
